PSA: Work toward your financial independence day

   We're getting close to the Fourth of July, our national Independence Day.  This holiday may get you thinking about freedoms you hope to enjoy - such as financial freedom.  How can you reach this goal?

   Almost anyone that’s ever seen a zombie movie, TV show or videogame know that most of the undead creatures follow the same rules – they’re slow, cannibalistic, and can only be killed by damaging their brains.

   Future generations will be tasked with carrying the torch forward representing our nation by accepting responsibility as leaders addressing the challenges they will encounter with strength, knowledge and integrity.

   This summer is another one of those history markers that come along.  Specifically, my classmates are planning an event that doesn't pivot on the five- and 10-year intervals that class reunions typically follow.  No, this year my classmates and I are turning 75.

   My sister came for a visit last weekend and it was nice to have some quality time with her for the first time in months.  Our days were filled with errands, lending a hand around the house, tending to the pets and generally spending late evenings watching a variety of movies.

   Now that was quite the weekend that I doubt anyone saw coming.  Speculation was rampant as to the consequences.  Oil was quickly projected to significantly climb.  What in fact happened was just the opposite.  Oil moved up a bit and then back while gold and Bitcoin dropped in value.

   Seriously, where would we be without our playlists?  Varieties of playlists are endless when it comes to reflecting our lifestyles, emotions, personalities, dare I say identities.  They serve a purpose when it comes to mood regulation and emotional connections to our favorite people.

   I had a request to get a press release after work Monday for this week’s paper.  I said I needed it by 5 p.m. Monday, which is later than we normally accept articles.  We live in a havoc-filled atmosphere on Mondays, particularly late Monday afternoons.
