In a 2014 study by Wendy Wood found that about 40% of people’s daily activities are performed out of habit.
Wood said, “an important characteristic of a habit is that it’s automatic…We find patterns of behavior that allow us to reach goals.
“We repeat what works, and when actions are repeated in a stable context, we form associations between cues and response.”
How does God want us to live?
This is a question that we must ask every day.
It’s time to make a repetition to go to go to church, to read our Bible, and to pray.
Your schedule will be different with many other people, but that is why God gives us wisdom.
Jesus would wake up every day and pray.
We should do the same thing.
On Saturdays my grandfather would take time each Saturday and make phone calls to his family.
He will call all of his sisters, bug them, ask them about their week, and just check up on them.
This is what we need to do in our life.
We have to stay connected with one another and make a phone call or two.
May God remove the bad habits in your life.
Think about the word, habit.
Take away the, “h” you have, “a bit.”
Take away the “a” and you still have the bit.
Take away the “b” and you have “it.”
Every habit begins by a small repetition.
2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” How can we overcome our bad habits?
It is only by the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is going to guide us and direct us.
When we are consistent with doing the right thing we are blessing the Lord.
