‘Disposing of Leftover Remnants Signal’

In Other Words....

Whether it be the remnants from a seamstress’s couture dress or  a hairstylist’s clippings from a client’s recent hairstyle makeover, in the end the remnants are swept away to be discarded.
Once a part of the original whole, a new style emerges shedding parts that no longer serve the finished product.
With humans, there’s never a final product in our growth stages.
We are continually growing, changing, and leaving behind physical aspects, beliefs and behaviors that no longer serve us in our new state of being.
Depending on each person’s storyline, what was seen as a vital tool in their  surviving early life experiences, might hamper them in their next developmental stage.
ecalling our two steps forward and one step backward pattern during the teenage years,  as adults we look back and wonder what we were thinking; simple answer, we weren’t thinking at all.
For some, letting go of those remnants that no long serve us is a mighty, tall order.
Remnants can take on many forms: numbing feelings with alcohol, drugs, or food, friendships that you find you’ve outgrown, relying on half-truths (white lies) to avoid confrontation and accountability, people pleasing in the hopes of being accepted rather than being authentic and holding grudges rather than utilizing forgiveness releasing you from the burden of carrying around someone else’s baggage.
First and foremost, congratulate yourself on your many achievements throughout the decades of your life.
There is so much to be thankful for, but we carelessly bypass our gratitude to reach the next thing just ahead of us.
I recently came across a phrase that says it best, “Sometimes you are so focused on the future that you don’t realize you’re in the middle of what you used to pray for.”(unknown)
Leftover remnants from the past can restrict our ability to focus as well.
Consider this phrase when carting your over-sized remnant baggage, “God can’t show you the next chapter of your life if you keep your focus on reading the last chapter over and over again.” (unknown)
Spring is just around the corner and just as we anticipate the excitement of beautiful weather, the other side of the coin is undertaking spring cleaning.
It can be a daunting task, but once it’s over, you feel lighter knowing in most instances that less is more.
Leftover mental remnants are best reviewed for their current value to access whether they continue to add to the quality of your life or not.
In other words, embrace a ‘new and improved’ state of being that suits your style and sweep up the rest for disposal.
