"Remember the church is an oasis of hope in the desert " by: Caleb Gibson

A preacher is out hunting but can’t find any animals.
In frustration, he sets down his gun and heads to the stream to cool off.
About this time, he sees this huge grizzly bear racing toward him.
He falls on his knees and says, ‘God please, protect me. I am asking you God, please convert this bear into a Christian.’
Miraculously, the bear freezes, puts both paws toward heaven and says, “Bless us, this meal I am about to receive, put it to the nourishment of my body Amen.”
We need to always be praying for God to help others.
One of the best things that a person can do is go to church.
The next step that takes place is baptism and then membership.
So why is it important to be a member of a local church?
Church membership gives a Christian accountability, new identity, it helps us define the Pastor’s authority.
(I’m not over everyone), ownership, a “This is my Church”attitude.
One of the most important distinctions from someone who goes to church and a church member is commitment.
Commitment is what separates someone who is in a relationship with someone who’s married.
Weddings are known by their great songs, great speeches, venues, extravagant clothes, and get togethers.
Yet the most important part of the wedding is the part where they exchange vows. Without this fundamental part it could be a great celebration but it is definitely not a wedding. Where is similar way church membership is about a commitment to God to serve in a local community.
In a marriage you are committing your entire life, in church membership you’re committing without a timeframe.
You could be a member for three months, three year, or as long as you live.
You are committing to the church as long as God wants you to go there.
The Apostle Paul once said, “so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” (Romans 12:5).
How can you find a good church? Pray, seek, knock. Find a church that you agree with, be baptized, and join that local church.
Remember the church is an oasis of hope in the desert.
