"We defeat temptation by speaking the word of God" by: Caleb Gibson

Paul told the church in Corinth that we all face temptations.
First Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man.”
While we go through life, we need the help of the Lord.
The Amplified Bible explains this well by adding, “nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance.”
Grace is God’s ability to do what we can’t do.
It is because of the grace of God that we can resist the temptation of this world.
It has been before said, “You cannot stop birds from flying over your head, but you can certainly stop a bird from building a nest on your head.”
We cannot stop from hearing or seeing things that are evil, but we can make sure to not act on these desires.
A feeling to steal, hurt, or do evil does not mean that we should act on those desires.
We are all born into sin, now
we must be born again and allow God to fill our heart with new Godly desires.
When you face temptations remember, “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15).
How was Jesus able to defeat all of His temptations during His time on the Earth?
He spoke the word of God.
Even David said, “I hide God’s word in my heart that I may not sin against you.”
When we are constantly speaking God’s word, temptations will flee.
   How can we defeat temptations?
We must have an awareness of God’s presence.
We must speak the word of God.
When we do these two things we will live a more stress-free life.
