‘Begin again’

   I love this article title because there are no negative connotations associated with it like the two-word title “Start Over.”     Some readers might argue that it means exactly the same thing; I simply disagree.

   OK, every family has its internal arguments.  In this family, my argument is over the lingering Christmas lights at our front door as the days lengthen and heat up in April.  Typically not a month most people associate as Yuletide.

   Have I ever mentioned that my first love as a writer was for poetry?  Somewhere around my year in fifth grade, I had a teacher that had us crafting poems every six weeks based on specific styles.  We covered everything from sonnets and haikus to free form poetry and different rhyming techniques.

   The bounceback failed for now.  The S&P 500 moved back below 5600.  I hate trite expressions like crossroads or inflection point, but we have not determined where this market wants to go.

   It’s right at sundown here at the sprawling campus of the Bay City Sentinel newspaper.   I’ve always liked this time of day after a day of sunshine.    The sun’s rays at this angle leave a softened glow on everything.

   At any given City of Bay City Council meeting, you’ll hear one or two councilmembers pushing governmental transparency while badmouthing “the media” in the same breath.

   We avoided a big selloff but there was verylittle rebound.   The S&P 500 continues to languish around the 200 day moving average.   The markets had much to digest of late.   There are the tariffs on the front page, but there is plenty behind that.
