In Other Words....
With the end of 2024 departing and 2025’s estimated time of arrival nearing, I hope you’ve located your cruising altitude.
Expectations for the new year are high at this stage of the game, but some individuals may find themselves experiencing unexpected turbulence early on in the new year.
I want to address those conflicts.
As a communication coach, my job is to give clients options to consider when they’re faced with a problem.
First and foremost, rising above the turbulence is key.
During conflicts, security and safety are the top priority, not emotional responses.
Rise above it to your cruising altitude before appropriate engagement.
Fear, anger and frustration are all found at the level of conflict.
Discernment is ineffective when partnered with negative emotions. So, rise above it.
Once at your cruising altitude, another aspect comes into play: staying in the present moment, also known as the NOW.
I have a little secret for you:
Time is an illusion!
There is no such thing as time.
All we have is Now.
Anything we wish to claim as time is really referencing your past or your future.
Neither is real.
If you spend a great deal of time thinking about what happened to you in the past or what might happen to you in the future, you are in full identification with your mind.
Consciousness is not located in your mind.
Consciousness occurs in the present moment.
I have another secret for you:
Happiness can be found in the now.
In his book The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle explains that negative emotions will never be found in the present moment.
The instant that negative emotions arise, immediately ascend to your cruising altitude to return to the NOW.
When asked why we are unable to ponder unhappiness in our consciousness, he says that unhappiness requires identification with your past or your future located in your unconscious mind.
The problem is that when something upsets or scares us, humans choose to stay identified with these emotions in the mind rather than allowing the emotions to pass through them.
In other words, when conflicts and turbulence must be addressed, ascend to your cruising altitude where solutions may be found untethered by irrational reactions.
By doing so, we can avoid self-induced suffering in our lives.
The blame game is a futile attempt to draw attention away from the present moment where solutions await.
Life is full of surprises.
There’s no time to waste.
Fasten your seatbelt and prepare yourself for safe arrivals and departures throughout your life.
Wishing all of you a Happy New year!
