I’m done trying to figure out what the weather is going to do!
From one day to the next, it’s a gamble to see if it stays cold even when the sun comes out or if the wind dies down mid-afternoon and I’m left regretting my choice to wear jeans all day.
That being said, we’re getting closer to the annual fair and rodeo events.
Also, that means I’m expecting one more “cool” front and anticipating a few more mornings requiring blue jeans instead of shorts. But, overall, I’m packing up and storing my thick sweaters for the season.
If some strange Arctic front shows up after this column, I’ll probably regret that decision.
If that happens, you can bet you’ll hear about it!
Still, I’ve got my industrial jacket, long-sleeved shirts, and hoody to get me through anything too terrible.
Speaking of terrible, I’m getting quite fed up with Disney+ only having seasons of shows that last 6-8 episodes long!
That’s not even enough content to make it through an entire day worth of binge-watching.
Granted, we binged the entire “The Expanse” series on Prime Video the weekend before last – and that was six whole seasons long. The Expanse episodes ranged from 10-13 in the first few seasons before ending up with only six in the final season!
I guess I can chalk some of that up to it switching from the SyFy network to Amazon Prime.
It was slow to start but pretty addictive and based on a book series that I’m going to have to look into renting from the Bay City Public Library or downloading off the internet.
There’s just something awe-inspiring about science fiction series set 300-plus years in the future.
Even if human nature follows the same cycles and never seems to learn from its past mistakes.
This weekend had us finishing “The Book of Boba Fett” in two afternoons since the episodes weren’t even a full hour long.
The world of Star Wars has always held my attention since I was a child and watching the series expand on TV is great.
While I know that it also has a large book series – it’s just never drawn me to it like the big screen.
Fett had only seven total episodes in its first season and I want more! And don’t get me wrong, I understand the point of cliffhangers for the sake of keeping a fan interested in the overall story.
But, I’m just more than a little aggravated at how the last episode ended. I’ve had the same complaint about Disney’s Marvel superhero series, too.
So, I don’t know whether to blame the producers of said shows or just Disney itself. Plus, even if I blame Disney, what good will that do me?
I suppose I can fill the time between seasons by finding something new to watch. It just has to work for everyone since TV time is family time in the Reddell household.
And believe me, there’s a host of shows I watch just for myself on my own, but Mike and mom are the pickiest TV and movie watchers to deal with.
I guess that means I’ll be spending some off time researching new shows to share with them.
We’ll see how that goes this weekend – I’ll keep you all in the loop!
