"Just as we need water, we daily need an encounter with God" by: Caleb Gibson

Hannah Brencher shared a great illustration in her book, “Fighting Forward.”
She said, “Kintsugi is a Japanese term that means ‘join with gold’ or ‘golden seams.’
If you were to break a jar and wanted to put it back together using the method of kintsugi, someone would take the jar and piece it back together with a glue that is mixed with powdered gold or platinum.
It wouldn’t be like superglue, where the item looks perfect because the glue is clear.
You would see the gold in all the cracks.
…Those who practice kintsugi believe that just because something breaks doesn’t mean it cannot be used anymore.
It’s not about perfection; it’s about resilience.
The once-broken thing becomes more valuable because now there is gold binding the pieces together.”
In life we must be resilient.
What God has started in our hearts He will finish.
Perhaps you’re on a plan to lose weight. You must be consistent.

There is no get rich quick scheme here, the way to be free is to trust in God.
John 8:31-32 tells us, “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’”
How can we be free from sin, depression, sickness, or stress?
We must rely on the Lord.
It is not simply the truth alone that sets us free, it is believing in that truth.
The chair is what gives me rest, but the chair alone doesn’t give me rest.
It is when I put faith in the chair and I sit down that I receive my rest.
God’s word is life, we must receive it and hold on to it.
James King, a leader at HEB shared a great illustration with me about our freedom in Christ.
He said, “Our chains are no longer attached to our arms, but we still have to let go of them. God sets everyone free from sin, but only the one’s who let go of the chains walk free.”
What a great truth! It is the truth that sets us free, and it is believing in the truth causes us to walk free. Let go of your chains and be free!
Trust in the Lord with your heart.
When you have a problem give it to God.
Take time daily to pray to Him.
Just as we need water daily, we daily need an encounter with God even more.
We need to seek the Lord.
One of the greatest lessons that we can learn from God is that we are made the righteousness of God.
“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Sin broke us. It shattered us.
Yet God’s righteousness restores us! He filled our cracks with righteousness.
