A Tallit is a four corner fringed Jewish garment used as a prayer shawl.
This is used as a reminder of the old covenant laws of God.
This is an old covenant garment.
It brought new covenant healing.
The four strands remind us that we are knotted together.
A three-strand rope reminds of father, son, and Holy Spirit.
You are the fourth strand woven together with the Holy Spirit.
“But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.” (Malachi 4:2).
This was the prophecy from Malchi.
This was the final chapter of the old covenant books.
GotQuestions.org says, “According to Jewish understanding, the numerical value of the Hebrew word tzitzit (fringes) is 600.
“Each of the fringes contains 8 threads and 5 knots, making a total of 613.
“Based on rabbinical Judaism, this number corresponds to the 613 commandments contained in the Torah.”
While Jesus was around a large crowd, “…a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped.” (Luke 8:40-47). Here she reached for the wing of the garment and was healed.
How powerful, this was a fulfillment of the prophecy in Malachi.
Jesus later told her, “And He said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.’” (Luke 8:48).
Jewish men wore this.
Jesus a Jewish Man.
The tallit (prayer shawl) represents the Commandments of God. Jesus was even called a rabbi at times.
30 years of age was the age for a man to become a rabbi.
Just start his ministry at 30. So, He was following the Jewish holidays and customs.
Jesus had a tallit.
This is not something weird like saying Jesus went to McDonald’s.
For Jesus to wear this was common.
All of our righteousness (good work) is like filthy rags.
Filthy rags in the Bible are like the sanitary napkins for a woman’s period.
She is a picture of the church the church has been bleeding because of self-righteousness.
So, if we are not bearing fruit, in other words the church is not having children (bearing fruit) it is because of self-righteousness.
It was a shame to live during the times of the Bible and not have children.
Many were sadly looked down upon.
Jesus was restoring healing to this woman and hope.
Jesus is the only one who is perfect.
The healing does not come from your keeping of the law because we are not perfect. It is only when we rely on God’s perfection and God’s perfect work on the cross we trust in the Lord by faith. That’s when the healing can take place.
The tassel is called a tassel (zitzit), but it can also be called a wing is or the wings of the garment.
Everyone was around Jesus, but not everyone received.
You can be in church but not be healed and someone else could be in church and with you why because God looks at faith.
Seek the Lord today, don’t allow the cares of this world to slow you down.
Trust in the wings of God.
