Wow we're missing out on a great money-making opportunity this April because of celestial circumstances.
I'm speaking, of course, about the total eclipse April 8.
The narrow "Great North American Eclipse" will cut across 13 states in a diagonal path from Del Rio to Maine.
Kerrville is among several cities lining up venues to view the total darkness in totality path across Texas.
In Kerrville the totality will begin at 1:32 p.m. that day and last for four minutes and 25 seconds.
The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department is putting on the free Kerrville Eclipse Festival in Louise Hays Park that's on the Guadalupe River.
NASA chose only three cities in the United States to livestream the eclipse, and Kerrville is one of them.
This event will include scientific speakers from NASA, live music from Judah and the Lion, and children's programming.
While the city is preparing for the festival, several other sites in Kerr County will offer places to stay, including some with views of the Texas Hill Country.
Those places, I'm told, are not free and pretty pricey.
I wouldn't mind a temporary franchise to see eclipse glasses.
By the way, we'll see some of eclipse, but it won't be in total darkness.
Moving on from the stars, I'm looking forward to being among the walking soon.
I'm six weeks into my leg mending itself and after a doctor appointment Thursday, I hope I can begin leg therapy.
I'm sitting at my computer as I write this and hope springs eternal that I'll move on from this sedentary existence.
I know MaLinda is looking forward to that time, as are her daughters.
Everyone here have been great in helping me through this ordeal.
