It’s time to fulfill your destiny.
Every voice is different.
Every laugh is different.
Every person is different.
As we get closer to graduation, what should we be telling those who graduate high school and college?
Mike Rowe from the TV show Dirty Jobs, believes that, “You should not follow your passion, but you should bring it with you, wherever you go.”
He has met many people who do some really bizarre and tough jobs.
There was once a pig farmer whom they had on the show, I’m pretty sure he never had any passion to work with pigs all day.
He worked with plumbers and even those who worked on shrimp boats in very dangerous waters.
Mike said, I’m sure no plumber ever said, “When I was a kid I just couldn’t wait to work with crap.”
We need to remind those who are looking for a new job, a new opportunity, a new career that we need to bring enthusiasm to work every day.
When we live with peace and joy, we will bring energy with us every day.
No, that doesn’t mean that we should be like Barbie and smile all the time.
This is a heart attitude.
This is a mindset of peace.
One of the most remarkable things that ever took place in the Scriptures was the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem by Nehemiah.
Yet I’m not sure if the people of Jerusalem ever had a passion for brick making or that type of concrete. Nehemiah even told them to carry a sword with them and a trumpet on the other side of their hip.
They were living in a dangerous time.
But they did what they could for a bigger goal.
We, in the same way, must do what we don’t want to do so that we can fulfill our dreams.
We spend less money, we buy a cheaper car, we eat out less, so that we can get out of debt and do what we really want.
Sometimes fulfilling your destiny means carrying a trumpet and a sword while being a bricklayer.
The scriptures tell us, “Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalms 37:4).
If we want to fulfill the godly desires that we have in our heart, we need to be full of delight and joy.
Yes, we are called to serve God, but don’t forget to enjoy the presence of God.
How can we fulfill our destiny?
We bring our passion with us every day and we enjoy the Lord as we go.
