   Matagorda County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension hosted a wildlife symposium last week.  Guest speakers touched on whitetail deer, bobwhite quail, and herbicide use – all of which outlined water resources as key factors in wildlife and habitat management.

   Bay City Police Narcotics Division Head Sgt. Joe Bruno delivered a report to City Council last week that underlined how pervasive illegal drug activity is in Bay City.    He said there is a considerable number of businesses here that buy and deal narcotics.

Hlavinka creates steamboat model

  Did you know that this large model, made by Craig Hlavinka, is fashioned after the wreckage of a 19th century steamboat found in the muddy waters of Caney Creek?    Not much information is available about it, but there are three theories as to why it is there and what happened to it.
