"Weekend events start Thursday" by: Jessica Shepard

Fire damages shed used as closet, office

   A shed used as a closet and office caught fire Saturday, Jan. 10.   The Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, Bay City Police Department, and Bay City Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a report of a fire at 2300 Oak Dr. about noon Saturday.

Van Vleck ISD is hosting a 5K Run/Walk Saturday, Jan. 10, in support of Jacob “Goose” Guzman’s battle with cancer.The event features a “Kids Race” starting at 9:30 a.m. with the 5K Run/Walk following at 10 a.m. – all at Van Vleck High School’s Burl McKinney Field, 8980 TX35 North.
