   The 2024 Bay City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture Man of the Year is Lindsey Thompson.  Former Bay City councilwoman and retired Bay City ISD teacher Julie Estlinbaum is the 2024 Woman of the Year.  Thompson and Estlinbaum were honored at the annual chamber banquet Thursday night, Jan.

   The Van Vleck Volunteer Fire Department and the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trailer home on fire at 497 Camino Del Arroyo in Van Vleck, at  about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Library celebrates ‘Family Place’

   Bay City Public Library celebrated its "Family Place" library designation Wednesday, Jan. 15.   In 2018, the library received a grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission for the Family Place Libraries program.
