Tenaris donates $36,000 in hydraulic equipment to WCJC

From Tenaris

Tenaris delivered $36,000 worth of hydraulic equipment and parts
from its seamless pipe manufacturing facility in Bay City, to the Wharton County Junior College, as part of a donation to the college’s Manufacturing Technology Program.
  Hector Piñeda, Operations
Senior Director, presented the equipment alongside members of his team.
“We’ve been proud partners with the Manufacturing Technology Program at WCJC for more than 10 years, and this donation is another way we can invest in local workforce development and technical education,” Piñeda said.
“Some of the graduates work at our mill in Bay City, so we’ve been able to see the program’s impact firsthand.”
The donated components will provide students with additional opportunities for hands-on experience using the same equipment used at Tenaris’s seamless facility, bridging the classroom learning with real world applications.
“Incorporating real world equipment that is used in the industry is truly beneficial to our students,” said Danny Bacot, Dean of Workforce.
“The students will develop multiple skills and troubleshooting knowledge in their hands-on exercises. They will have the opportunity to observe how their training will come together to accomplish real tasks and help in their employability upon completion.”
Tenaris partnered with Wharton County Junior College and the Bay City Community Development Corporation to launch the Manufacturing Technology Program in 2015.
Since then, Tenaris has contributed more than $1 million, supplying equipment and providing training to teachers.
Tenaris also offers annual scholarships to five local students who plan to attend the program.
