. The Matagorda County Tax Assessor Collector, Becky Barrett Cook, is excited to announce that their new Online Tax Sales Website is live and ready for registration.
According to the TAC this new format will provide ready access to anyone and everyone free of charge.
“Anyone with an internet accessible device will be able to access the tax sale information 24 / 7. Folks can review and bid on properties from the convenience of their home, their office or from the HEB if they choose.
The auction platform is free of charge, easy to use and provides multiple research tools.”

According to Ms. Cook, the online bidding platform is being provided at no charge to the County by a national online auction company – Realauction - in coordination with the County’s tax collection law firm Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP.
“After all of the pitfalls, and interruptions in business we’ve encountered over the last several years we wanted to look at ways of getting information and resources to Matagorda County property owners that were reliable and convenient.”
The online auction platform allows anyone to access the tax sale information and research properties.
If you intend to bid, you simply create an account and follow the bidding guidelines.
“The platform is easy to use but one of the things that really sold us was the customer service available from the service provider.

The first online tax sale will take place on Tuesday, October 3rd at 10 a.m. but the information for that sale is currently available for viewing at the link provided.
