   Matagorda County Fair and Livestock Association’s 2024 Fair and Rodeo royalty winners were chosen last weekend.  Emily Dunbar was crowned the 2024 MCFLA Rodeo Queen on Saturday, Feb. 17.

   Nine candidates graced the stage at VFW Post #2438 to discuss a variety of topics and stances last week.  Questions were taken from the audience, reviewed by the Matagorda County Republican and Democratic Party chairs, and given to moderator Vince Bryant to be read out loud.

   City Councilmen Brad Westmoreland and Blayne Finlay asked Bay City PD Police Chief Christella Rodriguez to find the costs associated with increased mental health transport numbers during her presentation last week.  All council members were present at the Feb. 13 meeting.
