   Local artist Zeinab Ghais is creating another mural downtown – a rendering of the Guinness Book of Records’ Longest Longhorn Steer 2018 winner “Sato.”    Owned by Scott and Pam Evans, Sato’s horn spread clocked in officially at 125.75 inches, or roughly 10.5 ft. on Aug. 2, 2018.

Matagorda County fire calls

   Bay City Volunteer Fire Department:     On May 21, at 8:08 p.m., Bay City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident and fire at the 3200 block of Nichols.     On May 10, at 5:39 a.m., Bay City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass fire on CR 214.

Illegal dumping a crime, Bay City Fire Marshal says

   Bay City Fire Marshal Dan Shook reminds residents that illegal dumping is a crime.     “If caught, you can face steep fines up to thousands of dollars or possibly even jail time,” he said.    Illegal dumping has many negative effects on the environment, Shook pointed out.
