   Matagorda County Museum’s annual “Festival of Trees” seasonal exhibit is now open.  Visitors can vote for their favorite trees across several categories including businesses, individuals, schools and daycares, and other clubs or organizations.

   Bay City Mayor Pro-tem Jim Folse proclaimed the city as a “Tourism Friendly Community” during last week’s council meeting.    Mayor Robert Nelson was the only member absent from the meeting.

Palacios man charged with 5 robberies

   A 21-year-old Palacios man is being held in Brazoria County on charges he robbed four places in Matagorda County and another in Brazoria County.    Connor Green, 21, of Palacios, matched the description of the robbery suspect, deputies said.
