Bay City Police seeks leads on Nov. 4 shooting

   Bay City Police officers were sent to the 2800 block of Jack White Way, about a 23-year-old man being shot in a car at about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4.   When Officers arrived, they performed basic first aid while waiting for EMS.

Fatal bedroom fire claims life of Bay City man

   A bedroom fire claimed the life of an 80-year-old man on the evening of Saturday, Nov. 5.   Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, Bay City Police Department, and the Bay City Fire Marshal responded to a report of a fire at about 11:33 p.m. at 2305 Horn Rd.

November sales tax rebates up from 2024

   The State of Texas November sales tax allocation payment totaled $796,641,593, up 5.66% from the November 2024 total of $753,965,181.  The state’s total allocation payments year to date are $8,296,094,299, up 4.27% from the payment of $7,956,005,158 for the same period last year.

   Tidehaven won its fourth consecutive District 14-3A-2 championship with a 59-6 rout of East Bernard Brahmas Friday night at Delvin L. Taska Stadium at El Maton.    “We haven’t had a game that was competitive past five minutes into the third quarter this season,” said Tiger Head Coach David Lucio.

Saturday has a full slate of activities

   The first Saturday in November has something for everyone to enjoy or participate in.  It all kicks off with the “8th Annual Veterans’ Appreciation Parade” participation registration starting bright and early at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.  The parade itself kicks off at 10 a.m.
