"CAST ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ will close out this weekend" by: Jessica Shepard

   Tickets are going fast for Community Actors of South Texas’ rendition of “Driving Miss Daisy.”  Each performance starts at 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, May 8-10, at the CAST theater.  General admission tickets are $20 per person, and student tickets are $7 with a valid student ID.

"MCEDC OKs 1-year marketing contract with TxEDC" by: Mike Reddell

   Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) board approved a one-year agreement with the Texas Economic Development Corporation (TxEDC) to boost MCEDC marketing efforts.  The approval came after an executive session at MCEDC’s regular board meeting Friday, April 25.

"Countywide 2022-23 TEA letter grades are released" by: Jessica Shepard

   The Texas Education Agency (TEA) released 2022-23 school year ratings last week.  The A-F letter grades were released after a 19-month legal battle over how those ratings are calculated.  Locally, those grades are “B” for Tidehaven and “C” for Bay City, Van Vleck, Palacios, and Matagorda ISDs.
