   Bay City High School’s Dungeeoners are aiming to take their “One-Act Play (OAP)” productions to state-level competition.  The Dungeoneers have their Bi-District showcase on Wednesday, April 2 at the Bay City High School Theater.

Data centers draw MCEDC discussion

   The Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) Board of Directors met March 27, with a focus on ongoing development efforts and addressing growing public concern surrounding proposed data center projects in the county.

   With the Easter Bunny on his way to Matagorda County, several entities are closing early.  In observance of Good Friday, April 3, the Matagorda County Courthouse and city offices will be closed.  The Bay City Public Library will be closed Friday and Saturday, April 3-4 for its Easter holiday.

STP Unit 1 scheduled refueling outage begins

   STP Nuclear Operating Company has begun the 26th scheduled refueling and maintenance outage on Unit 1.  The unit was safely taken offline on Friday, March 20, to begin planned work that will support another cycle of reliable, around-the-clock power for Texas.

Bay City Police announce Shop With A Cop scholarship winners

    This talented group of young men and women received college or dual credit scholarships from Shop With A Cop that started in 2013.   Each year we provide local kids with school supplies, we purchase toys for kids for Christmas, and for the last few years we offered a scholarship program.
