"Biblical Titus had a purpose in life: To be a comfort to people around him" by: Caleb Gibson

We all have a purpose in this life. I cannot meet everyone that you can, and you cannot meet everyone I can.
Everyone has a limited influence. Even while Jesus was on this Earth he was unable to go and speak individually to every person.
This is why the Church is vital to the Kingdom of God.
We all can reach people around our circle of influence.
God wanted a man named Titus to preach to the people of Crete.
This was a Greek island in the Mediterranean Sea.
This Island was to be Titus’ area of influence.
God wants to reach the world and He needs us to be His hands and feet.
Titus was a Greek believer in Christ and he was a devoted follower of Jesus and Paul.
Paul even called Titus, “My true son in our common faith” (Titus 1:4).
This is possibly because Paul led him to be a believer in Jesus.
The Apostle Paul assigned him the role of going to the island of Crete to be a pastor there
He was to restore order to a network of churches.
Paul mentions Titus nine times during the book of 2 Corinthians. He was a Greek, he has a Latin Name.
This was a letter written in between first Timothy and second Timothy.
One of the best verses in this book says, “For the grace of God has appeared with salvation for all people,” (Titus 2:11)(HCSB). God’s favor is not just for a select group, it is open for anyone who wants to receive it.
God gives grace to the humble.
How great was this man Titus that even the Apostle Paul, the man who wrote the majority of the New Testament, spoke highly of him?
Paul said, “But God, who comforts the humble, comforted us by the arrival of Titus, and not only by his arrival, but also by the comfort he received from you.
“He told us about your deep longing, your sorrow, and your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.” (2 Corinthians 7:6-7) (HCSB).
May we live a life like Titus and be a comfort to the people around us.
Let’s pray that God would set up divine appointments this week. Even now, God is going to put the right people in your life to accomplish His will.
Let’s be ready to encourage and live a life like Titus.
