Bobby Seiferman announces for Matagorda County Judge

   Bobby Seiferman has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination in the race for Matagorda County Judge. 
   “As a Christian, first and foremost, I want to walk with wisdom and discernment in promoting policies that will benefit all of the stakeholders in Matagorda County. 
   With the new redistricting maps soon to be released it is possible that our entire national and state leadership will change. 
   My candidacy brings a much broader and more beneficial regional experience to the table.” 
   Bobby grew up in Matagorda County and knows how important the agriculture and energy sectors are to the local economy. 
   He was recently appointed to the Membership and Transportation Committee for the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. 
   He is also a former board member for the Matagorda County Museum, a past president of the Bay City Jaycees and is currently a member of the Bay City Lions Club. 
   He has extensive public sector budgeting, personnel and policy experience. 
   Bobby has a master’s degree in public administration from Texas State University, having been named to the honor society for public affairs there. 
   He also is a certified water utility manager, has a Texas mediator’s certificate, and is certified in the Texas Public Information and Open Meetings Acts. 
   He served on the Round Rock school board, the 20th largest school district in the state, and was also policy committee chairman, was a TASB state convention delegate, served as district representative on the Capital Area Council of Governments and helped manage over a billion dollars in public funds.
   “I consider the most important aspect of my job as a trustee was ensuring a safe environment for 50,000 school kids and 5,500 teachers. 
   “I look forward to working with other county groups and agencies to establish a youth leadership Matagorda County program that will engage our county high school juniors and seniors,” he said.
   “We have get our young people in leadership roles and more involved in the process of how their local governments work.”
   Bobby has been involved in economic development for over 30 years and currently serves on the Legislative Committee for the Texas Economic Development Council, is on the Rural Economic Development Action Committee for the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission and has served as chairman of a Tax Incremental Funding District. 
   He has a background in digital marketing as well. 
   He is past president of the I-10 Community Alliance. 
   The Alliance seeks to enhance increased heritage tourism in the communities between San Antonio and Houston. 
   “I know the importance of promoting and supporting our local businesses. Sales tax is the fuel for local economic development.”
   Bobby has over 30 years of media experience and recognizes how important it is as an elected official to be transparent and accountable. 
   “I want our media outlets, as well as taxpayers to know that I will be responsive and accessible.”
   Additionally, Bobby served as a promotions panelist for Round Rock PD. 
   And he also has an associate degree in criminal justice and his father was a DPS Trooper in Matagorda County for many years and his mother was a registered nurse. 
   “I’m an old Troop 45 Eagle Scout from way back and I want our public safety personnel and law enforcement agencies rest assured that I will work to committing the resources needed to continue to protect the citizens of this county,” he said.
   “And as a former corporate partnership manager for a professional sports team and with my marketing experience, I will work toward fostering public private partnerships to further enhance the safety of our beaches and parks.”
   He is married to Kathleen, a retired school administrator and they have two adult children, both of whom served in the military. 
   “I would hope the voters, regardless of party, would view my candidacy and see someone with the leadership experience and skills that could potentially lead this county into the next decade.”
