Mark Labberton once said, “When I was considering the possibility of embracing Christian faith as a young college student, what I feared most was that it would make my life smaller rather than larger — less love, less joy, less creativity, less wonder, less engagement.
I had met enough Christians who were incarnational proof of this, so when I finally came to faith in Christ as a college student, it was because I discovered that…the very essence of the kingdom of God is a life bigger than I would ever find outside of it.”
What a great truth! Living for Christ is greater than living for myself.
This Kingdom life is a joy because no matter what happens, we are with God.
And during our life, we have someone who actively wants to help us.
In the book of Colossians chapter one, we see the need to be a part of the Kingdom of Christ.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.
In him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:13-14).
As we think about Ukraine and everything they are going through, we must continue to pray for them.
War is something that should cause us to pray even more.
Let us not become afraid, we must remember God’s Word that reminds us, “Do not fear”!
Today we are free from the domain of darkness, we are in a new territory.
We are living the Kingdom life today.
In this life, there is forgiveness for our sins.
There is peace with God.
We can live a life full of the Spirit of God.
Speaking at a youth camp, Pastor Bobby Williams once said, “If I could tell my young teenage self something I would say, ‘Find the people who are living with the It’s all about Jesus attitude.’”
This is the attitude of the Kingdom.
When we surround ourselves with believers, we can do great things!
Think about the early church of only 12 Disciples.
Look what they were able to accomplish and do.
See, if we look at only what we can do, we will miss what God is doing.
God knows someone who knows someone.
He can get us the right connections.
May we just continue to be persistent.
Living for Christ means that we have more grace, more joy, more love, more creativity, and more wonder!
This life in the kingdom is not about what we can earn or merit, this life is about looking to Christ.
May we be continue to be faithful in this one life calling, seek first the Kingdom of God.
