"This life is really about a one-on-one walk with God" by: Caleb Gibson

There is a famous poem called, “Footprints In The Sand.”
I’m going to shorten the story here: “One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
“Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
“When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
“He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints…He questioned the Lord about it.
“Lord…I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.” The Lord replied, “…when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”
In Colossians 3 3, we read this, “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (CSB).
What does it mean to have our life hidden with Christ? What happened to Jesus has now affected our life.
With Resurrection Sunday right around the corner, we will be reminded of what God has done for us. When Jesus died, He died in our place. Because He was buried, we were buried. Because He was raised from the dead, so are we.
We are now alive because of what Christ accomplished.
We have been buried, raised, seated, and hidden in Christ.
This is something that we can add to the list. We are the hands and feet of God. Our life is not just about what we want and desire, it is about God’s will. We must ask, “God what would you want for me to be and do today?”
When we understand this, our purpose will be fulfilled. One of the goals in this life is to live like Jesus.
When Adam and Eve sinned, they tried to clothe themselves with fig leaves. They hid from God. Today there is no need to hide from God. His grace is there to go and speak to us.
Let’s go to God because we don’t have to hide from Him anymore. God forgives our sins and remembers them no more.
This doesn’t mean we ignore earthly things. We all still have hobbies and things we enjoy. Think about it like this, the main focus of our minds should be on Heavenly things.
A.T. Lincoln once said, “By no means everything about Christian living is apparent, not only to outsiders, for whom much of it appears foolish, but also to Christians themselves, for whom there remains mystery and much questioning until the final revelation….
“Its hiddenness necessitates that Christians live by faith and not by sight and, therefore, without all the answers to the meaning of many events in their lives.”
Paul spoke about the mystery of Christ. “What was hidden is now revealed in Christ. Paul said, “the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. “God wanted to make known among the Gentiles the glorious wealth of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1 26-27) (CSB).
When you are sad, go to the Lord. When you don’t know who to turn to, hide next to God. This life is not just about everyone and God, it is really about a one-on-one walk with God.
Walk with God and follow Him. Remember that as Christians, God is with you always.
