"Be like Hezekiah and open up the doors to God’s house" by: Caleb Gibson

Who was Hezekiah in the Bible and what can we learn from his life?
After King David and King Solomon, the kingdom of Israel was divided into two parts, Judah and Israel.
These each had its own king. Sadly, none of the kings of Israel were good.
The only good kings out of both of the kingdoms were in Judah.
Hezekiah was one of the few good kings during this period.
The Bible describes Hezekiah as a king who had a close relationship with God, one who did “what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God” (2 Chronicles 31:20).
His father was not a good king. Hezekiah had to set right what had been done wrong.
We read, “In the first year of his reign, in the first month, he opened the doors of the Lord’s temple and repaired them.”(2 Chronicles 29:3).
   What a great action!
May we continue to open up the doors of the house of God to this world.
When we have faith and speak God’s word, our mouth can be a door of blessing to others.
During the 1930s, Winston Churchill was once asked what prepared him most to speak out against Hitler and risk political suicide during the 1930s.
So, what gave Churchill the courage to stand up to many during this time and even Hitler?
He remembered this conversation, someone asked him, “You mean you failed a year in grade school?”
He replied saying, “I never failed anything in my life.  I was given a second opportunity to get it right.”
Sometimes it’s not always the first door that is right for us.
The Bible says that God has plans to prosper us and give us a hope and a future.
God doesn’t just have one plan or path.
When one door closes, God can open another one up, and if that door remains shut, the Lord can open a window.
Faith can be illustrated as a window.
It is the way we receive God’s grace. We are saved by grace through faith.
May God continue to open the right doors for you and your life.
Be like Hezekiah and open up the doors to God’s house.
When we follow God He will lead us.
Sometimes the answers may seem gray, if you are unsure remember that wisdom is there to fill in the gray areas of our life.
God gives us legs to walk, arms to lift, and wisdom for everything else.
