"When we stretch out our hands towards God, remember God’s hands are reaching us" by: Caleb Gibson

When King Solomon dedicated the temple to the Lord, he prayed over it.
We read that, “When Solomon finished praying, fire descended from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.” (2 Chronicles 7:1) (CSB).
In fact, the temple of Solomon was filled with the glory of the Lord.
This is called the Shekinah glory.
It was shining so bright that the Levites could not enter into the tabernacle.
This is a reminder for us and what God has done in salvation.
We today are the temple of the Holy Spirt.
When the Holy Spirit arrived, the disciples had tongues of fire.
Today we can experience the fire of the Lord when we encounter the Holy Spirit.
We can experience the glory of the Lord today when we worship God.
God did this so that they could visually see that the Lord was happy about what was done.
God chose to live with them and
among them. Later Jesus would be born of a virgin and he would give
his life for us. He walked among us and they saw Him physically.
Our main goal as believers is to seek after the Lord.
We can be worried about our bills, our health, but when we seek out to the Lord all these other things will be added onto us.
God will bless us with clothing, food, and provision.
Our goal is to follow the Lord. The Lord speaks to us and we walk in his Path.
We then follow the right path by going to work, eating healthy and listening to Him.
The Lord gives us the ability to work so we wake up and work. King Solomon said that he built this in the name of the Lord.
In the same way whatever we do for a living we should do it in the name of the Lord.
Some of us work hard for families. We do it in the name of the family.
We are the breadwinners. That is one of the most masculine things a father can do.
The ultimate goal is to do it for the name of the Lord. Because whatever we do for the least of these, we do it for God.
We seek the Lord because he first went after us.
Everyone is able to receive the forgiveness of sins, but not everyone receives it because not everyone wants it.
One of my favorite parts about King Solomon dedicating the temple is how he talked about stretching out your hands.
He said that whoever prays towards the temple may the Lord here in heaven.
He even stretched out his hands towards the people.
The idea of stretching out your hands may seem insignificant.
Perhaps you were in a church service where are they said stretch out your hands for a brother Fabio as we pray over him.
You may say, well I’ll do it but I don’t understand why.
Each thing that we do is important.
When we kneel down to God, when we close our eyes in prayer, and vwhere we bow our head.
Everything we do is important. To stretch out our hands is to seek after the Lord.
Next time you pray search at your hands.
The next time you worship stretch out your hands towards God. When we stretch out our hands towards God let us remember that God’s hands are reaching us.
