President Calvin Coolidge returned home from attending church early one Sunday afternoon.
His wife had been unable to attend, but she was interested in what the minister spoke on in the service.
Coolidge responded, “Sin.”
She pressed him for a few words of explanation.
And being a man of a few words with his wife, he responded, “Well, I think he was against it.”
God wired men and women differently.
It’s been said before that “Women use an average of 20,000 words a day, compared to the mere 7,000 that men utter.”
It’s OK to be different.
It’s not OK to accept where you are.
Many people give advice to the person going on a date by saying, “Just be yourself.”
That is good advice because we need to be who we are and to be authentic.
But, if I could make it better, I would add this, “Be the best version of yourself.”
When we live our life we must show love and do the best we can do.
Water is a reminder of life.
While we have a filter for the water we drink, we have to filter our words.
There is a time and a place to correct one another, but we cannot allow it to be the majority of the time.
The negative words will be remembered more than the positive.
When God created the world, He didn’t use his hands, He used His voice.
We read, “Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3).
We are not to be transformed by this world, but we are called to be transformed by the word of God.
When we speak, we are to use our voice for what God wants.
This is why we must guard our voices and our speech. You vocals are a gift from God.
When we speak highly of one another through encouragement, we are using our voice for God’s will.
