"Family trip to College Station brings new Aggie shopping experience" by: Jessica Shepard

Last week we took a small road trip to pick my sister up from College Station so that she could come home and celebrate our delayed Easter weekend festivities.
She’d recently had wrist surgery for an old injury and was still not allowed to drive anywhere yet.
This led to a few extra pit stops along the way home including a late lunch.
However, the most-unexpected stop was at “The Warehouse at C.C. Creations” to find Mike some Aggie gear he didn’t already own.
I’ve never been to this store, but my sisster always extolled its virtues and has brought us plenty of gifts from there for birthdays or other holiday celebrations in the past.
Truthfully, I was a little overwhelmed the moment we walked through those glass doors and saw a sea of maroon and white in front of us.
Among the usual school spirit fare were Christmas ornaments, leather purses, pillows, and an assortment of jewelry.
The dedicated warehouse portion of the store was housed in a separate building entirely and just as staggering in its item catalog.
In fact, we struggled with where to even begin our retail adventure.
Not to mention, when faced with plenty of discounts, and new and sale items,
Ashlee and I managed to add a few things to the pile mom started for herself and Mike.
By the time we were ready to check out, I had gotten my hands on a new maroon beanie, sweatband, and two shirts while Ashlee got a sweater and two shirts of her own.
Mom took forever to find a shirt she liked best and we got Mike yet another maroon ball cap, shirt, and flag sporting Squadron 2 Ollie Gator in a sea of maroon.
Now, I don’t know where he’s going to hang his new flag, but mom has already stated their bedroom is off-limits and offered to look into getting him a pole to mount on the porch or somewhere similar.
Until then, it’s going to languish away in its plastic packaging.
It was honestly just a bit harder to find anything for Mike that he didn’t already own in some form or fashion.
And I have to tell you, that I’m sure he sweats maroon at this point!
Still, we achieved our goal and loaded up our 12th Man bounty before heading home.
The only thing that we weren’t able to do was snap some photos amongst the bluebonnets.
After all, every spring Facebook is littered with families posed among the blue flowers in carefully chosen outfits.
Something similar to that was mom’s main side quest goal and it was quite the letdown to find only the sparsest groupings of the state flower.
On the other hand, I was glad we didn’t find the flowers along the roadside since I hadn’t dressed for a photo opportunity earlier that morning.
My favorite bluebonnet photos are still the ones we took in the spring of 2010 where mom ended up sitting on a cactus leaf and earned a cactus spine in the backside from her enthusiasm.
Ashlee and I escaped the adventure unscathed and still make light of the situation to this day.
The only other remotely interesting thing about that photo shoot was the fact that my hair was blue enough to match the flowers!
