Grace works when we rest.
The Apostle Paul told the Church in Corinth, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.” (1 Corinthians 15:10 NASB1995).
God doesn’t just see you where are you are, God sees you where you can be.
He sees your potential.
Growth doesn’t take place overnight as football gets closer we will see many athletes on the field.
They didn’t get there overnight.
The touchdown celebration didn’t happen that quick.
It happened because of continual effort.
That’s why to be in great physical shape you have to work out consistently.
To have great finances you have to spend less than you make consistently.
And if we want to have the life that Jesus desires for us we have to dedicate time for the Lord consistently.
There are times when Jesus healed people, He had them do something physically.
He told the blond man to “Wash in the pool of Siloam”.
Another man who couldn’t walk, He said, “Pick up your mat and walk”.
He could have healed them anyway, but He got them involved.
God wants you to be involved in the miracles of today.
If you are a believer in Jesus you are the body of Christ. So every time you do something for someone else, you are doing it as Jesus.
You are being, in essence, Jesus to this world.
That’s why our actions are important because people don’t see our faith, they see what we do.
How can grow in our faith?
I encourage you to begin to remind yourself of your new identity.
Take time to do something physically, get your physical Bible, open it up and read it.
I like to leave mine open so that it is ready.
Yes you can read God’s word on your phone, but take time during the week to read the physical book and allow God to minister to you.
