Bay City promotes three at City Hall Ceremony

Crime Scene Investigator Donna Pruitt  
   Crime Scene Investigator Donna Pruitt was recently promoted to the supervisory position of Senior Crime Scene Investigator.  
   Donna resides in Van Vleck with her husband Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office CID Captain Doug Pruitt.  
   They have 6 children, 6 grandsons, and one beautiful granddaughter, Daphne.  
   Donna enjoys working with her cattle and gardening.  
   In September Donna will have been with the department for 24 years; 13-½ years in the Records Division and 10-½ years in Crime Scene.  
   Donna holds certifications in Forensic Investigations through Texas A&M, Crime Scene Investigation, Death Investigations, Property Room Management, and Forensic Photography, to name a few.  
   She has testified in court numerous times in criminal cases and as a fingerprint expert.
   Due to her experience and expertise in Property Room and Crime Scene, other departments such as Matagorda County SO, Palacios PD, and the Texas Rangers have requested her assistance.  
   Sgt. Joe Bruno  
   Sgt. Bruno comes from a family of Judges, Assistant District Attorneys and Police Officers in New York City. 
   As a young teen, he moved from New York City to Louisiana, the New Orleans Metro Area. 
   Sgt. Bruno graduated high school in 1981 and joined the Army where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. 
   In the 80’s, Sgt. Bruno, after leaving the military, joined the police department in Jefferson Parish, New Orleans Metro area. 
   He served as a patrol officer, detective, and supervisor within the detective bureau. 
   He was a member of many Federal Drug Task Forces, OCDETF (Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, and the U.S. Customs Blue Lighting Drug Task Force. 
   Sgt. Bruno left law enforcement in the early 2000’s where he entered the Oil and Gas industry as an executive. 
   Sgt. Bruno is married to a wonderful wife of 18 years, Jennifer, and has two wonderful teen children, Carmine, and Summer. 
   Sgt. Bruno decided to re-enter the profession of Law Enforcement at the age of 56, graduating from WCJC Academy in 2021 as valedictorian and top gun. 
   Sgt. Bruno joined the BCPD on June 14, 2021, three days after police academy graduation. 
   Sgt. Bruno worked the streets of Bay City as an undercover narcotics officer and now as a narcotics investigator / supervisor. 
   Corporal Tyler Ramirez 
   Corporal Tyler Ramirez is the daughter of Amanda and Bobby, and sister to Jennifer. She is the wonderful aunt to Xavier, Elena, and Ezekiel.  
   Corporal Tyler Ramirez was born and raised here in Bay City, Texas, and graduated from the Bay City High School in 2015.  
   Cpl. Ramirez began her Law Enforcement career in 2016 at the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer.  
   While working as a jailer, Cpl. Ramirez attended the police academy at the Wharton County Jr College, and graduated class of PA99 in 2019.  
   In May of 2019, Cpl. Ramirez began her career here at the Bay City PD.  
   While employed with the BCPD, Cpl. Ramirez has attended several classes and became certified in positions such as Intoxilyzer Operator, Basic SWAT, and Field Training Officer.  
   While Cpl. Ramirez is not on duty, you can find her enjoying her time with her family and friends.  
   Cpl. Ramirez is excited to begin this new chapter in her Law Enforcement career with the BCPD, and is looking forward to continuing her career with the department.
