‘Silence is golden’

English poet Thomas Carlyle was the first to print this abbreviated proverb of a longer version originating in Ancient Egypt, “Speech is silver, and silence is golden.”
TCMworld.org suggests, “It’s reminiscent of luxury, success, achievement, triumph, royalty, and fortune, often parallel to the color gold meaning generosity and compassion synonymous with divinity and power.”
Why would silence be held in high esteem over speech?
Ask any employee sitting through the extended version of their Monday morning board meeting.
Less Noise equals more Concentration - Whisper Room.com reveals that Forbes points to business leader Vijay Eswaran as building his career on his ability to meditate each morning.
“Eswaran has created a theory of business management based on developing his productivity by spending a little time each morning in silence considering what information he needs to consider each day and what can be pushed aside.”
Let’s quietly follow along Whisper Room’s seven incredible benefits of silence:
Enhanced Concentration - Silence creates an environment conducive to focus and concentration, allowing you to perform tasks more effectively.
Boosted Creativity - Embracing silence can stimulate your imagination and inspire innovative thinking, unlocking new ideas and solutions.
Heightened Self-Awareness - By immersing yourself in silence, you can cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness, fostering personal growth and introspection.
Inner Calmness - Silence provides a tranquil space that promotes a sense of peace, tranquility, and mental clarity.
Improved Learning - Research suggests that excessive noise hinders learning, making silence essential for optimal information processing and knowledge retention.
Increased Productivity - Embracing moments of silence can help increase productivity by reducing distractions and improving task efficiency.
  And finally,
Cultivated Patience - Silence encourages patience and mindfulness, allowing you to navigate challenges with a greater sense of composure.
In other words, don’t expect silence to show up on your doorstep with soup and a warm blanket.
The choice falls in your lap to schedule limited time periods throughout the day where you turn the world’s audio all the way down.
  Shhhh, quiet please….
