In Other Words....
Imagine gearing up for the most important exam of your life.
If you pass, your life will unfold with your every step.
If you fail, your life will unfold with your every step.
Wait, hold on, the same result occurs regardless of your score on the exam?
The most important exam of your life is navigating your life; but no single outcome defines your entire existence.
Lessons are learned when you secure the new position at work or whether you’re passed over for a position that goes to someone else.
Growth comes from both outcomes.
Think of the idiom, “All roads lead to Rome.”
It refers to the extensive road system of the Roman Empire, which connected all its territories to the capital.
For the purposes of this article it’s an analogy referring to multiple paths being available to achieve the same result or reach the same destination.
At different stages in life, your choices may be manipulated by the ego in the race of comparison with the Jones’s.
With maturity, conscious choices may be discerned by what’s necessary for the evolution of our souls.
Author of “Conversations with God,” Neil Donald Walsh lightens the mood with his interview with @consciousalchemies by giving an example of people asking him how to manifest what they want.
He says, “What do you want to manifest? A better you, more compassion, deeper understanding, deeper wisdom?
“Or the perfect mate or the better job?
“This is not the pot calling the kettle black.
“I spent many years refining my manifesting to gain everything I wanted, until God said, ‘Neil, hello, it’s not about you; your life isn’t about you. It’s about everyone else’s life you touch and the way you touch them.
“‘And even if you had those things, do you think they’re going to make you happy? Hello?’
“I realized that if I spent my life sharing the wisdom, understanding, clarity and love of God with as many people as I could reach, I would no long have to search for my heart’s desire because they would crash down on me; and guess what, they did.’”
In other words, the emphasis on the most important exam won’t be on the score: it’s on the content of the story, the level of service and sharing we do for others.
And in giving ourselves to others, much will be given to us.
