This year Christmas Eve falls on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Christmas Day is Thursday, Dec. 25.
The United States Postal Service, banks, and other federal offices will only be closed on Christmas Day.
Regular Post Office hours and mail delivery will resume on Friday, Dec. 26.
Matagorda County courthouse offices have varying hours for Wednesday and are encouraged to contact each office respectively.
However, the courthouse is closed Thursday-Friday, Dec. 25-26, and re-opens to normal business hours on Monday, Dec. 29.
The City of Bay City, Bay City Public Library, and City Brush Site are closed for Dec. 25-26, but returns to regular business hours on Monday.
Bay City ISD students have Christmas break until Monday, Jan. 5, and will return to regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
Van Vleck and Tidehaven ISD students have Christmas break until Tuesday, Jan. 6, and will return to regular school hours on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
The Bay City Sentinel office will be closed for Christmas observance starting Tuesday. Dec. 23 and return to normal business hours Monday, Dec. 29.
