A 38-year-old Bay City man was jailed after Bay City Police officers went to the 2900 block of Sims about a suspect trying to get into a residence Wednesday morning, Jan. 14, police said.
Zachariah Bonner, 38, of Bay City, was booked at Matagorda County Jail for evading arrest, two aggravated robbery warrants, and abandoning/endangering a child warrant, reports show.
A caller told police dispatch that the suspect was trying to get into the residence.
The caller said the man had warrants for his arrest and was in a possible stolen vehicle from Refugio, reports indicate.

Officers Vickie Pursley, Cody Janssen, Jonathon Schafer, Corporal Seth Alvarez, and Sgt. James Philp went to the residence to look for the man.
Officers found him hiding behind a residence.
They ordered him to come to them, police said.
The man took off running and a chase began, reports show.
Detectives Jose Soto, Aubree Navarro, Chris Cunningham, and Sgt. Robert Pierce also joined in the chase.
Officers caught the man a short distance away.
During the pursuit of the man, Officer Keith Hatton located a black Jeep Cherokee in a parking lot about two blocks from the original call.
This vehicle was, in fact, stolen from Refugio, police said.
In cases like this, the reporting agency was contacted, and the vehicle was towed to a secure location.
Charges on the stolen vehicle will be determined by the reporting agency because no one was in the vehicle.
