The Tiger baseball season started with a 3-1 week.
On Tuesday we hosted Refugio and won 16-6.
Leading hitters were: Connor Claxton 4, Jachen Duran 3, Landon Piwonka 2. With 1 hit each were: Ricky Rubio, Clyde Griffith, Cliffton Cash and Kevin Rickaway.
On the mound Jechan Duran got the start and went 1 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits, 3 k’s and 6 BB’s.
TJ Galvan came in relief and got the win, pitching 3 2/3 innings, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits, 4 k’s 1 bb.
Clifton Cash threw a shutout inning striking out 1.
On Friday we traveled to Boling and won 3-1.
Leading hitters with 1 hit each were: Ricky Rubio, Jachen Duran and Clifton Cash.
On the mound in his varsity debut, Ritchie Z Garcia dealt 6 innings, giving up 1 unearned run, hitless innings, striking out 8 with 2 BBs.
Coming in to complete the no hitter was Connor Claxton with 1 hitless inning striking out 1.
On Saturday we hosted Boling in two 5-inning games.
Game 1 we won 11-6.
Leading hitters with 1 hit each were: Ricky Rubio, Zach Garcia, Christian Rubio.
Getting the start on the mound was TJ Galvan, pitching 2 innings and giving up 3 runs, only 1 earned on 3 hits, 1 K, 2 BB’s.
Camden Johnson came in relief to get the win pitching 2 1/3 innings giving up 3 runs, 2 earned on 1 hit, 1K and 2 BB’s.
Landon Piwonka closed it out with 2/3 hitless innings. In Game 2, we lost 9-7.
Leading hitters were: Zach Garcia 2, Jachen Duran 1, Clyde Griffith 1 and TJ Galvan 1.
Getting the start on the mound was Clifton Cash pitching 1/3 of an inning giving up 9 runs, 7 earned, on 1 hit, 4 BB’s, 2 HBP.
Landon Piwonka came in relief and threw 4 2/3 shutout innings on 2 hits, 1 K, 1 BB.
Our JV went 2-1-1 on the week.
Leading hitters on the week were: Bryce Sliva, Boogie Galvan, Josiah Duran, Kole Sensourivong and Kale Russell.
Leading pitchers were Camden Johnson, Travis Riendeau and Boogie Galvan, including a 4 inning no hitter.
