BCPD hosts 1st Junior Police Academy

   Bay City Police Department will host its first Junior Police Academy in late July, encompassing three days of learning and fun.   
  Due to a great response of receiving 45 applications, a second academy will be held the following week.   
  Junior Cadets will receive approximately 14 hours of training in topics such as basic duties of a patrol officer, criminal investigations, crime scene investigations, traffic and state laws, constitution, de-escalation techniques, traffic stops, a basic introduction to CPR and First Aid, and more. There are 14 training topics scheduled with 19 instructors culminating decades of experience.  
  Graduation for the first class will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the Bay City Service Center (USO Building) at 2105 Ave. M in Bay City.    
  Graduation for the second class will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the Bay City Service Center.    
  Shop with a Cop will sponsor lunch for the Junior Cadets for the first week on the day of their graduation.    
  Bay City Lions Club will sponsor lunch for the Junior Cadets for the second week on their graduation day.
