This year's Bay City Sentinel Easter coloring page contest winners are Jade Velazquez (5-8 age group), Kate Bartek (2-4 age group), and Addison Dodd (9-12 age group).
All winners received an Easter basket full of candy, toys, and activities to further their creative expression and imaginations. Blue ribbons were also awarded and presented to the winners
This year all the winners are students at Blessing Elementary and are pictured with their principal Merideth Dodd.
Over 300 entries were judged this year by local artist Zeinab Ghais, owner of Studio ZG
Ghais explained her reasons for choosing each winner in their age division.
“Kate Bartek had a good representation of color and expression,” she said.
“I loved the way that Jade Velazquez used the entire background and added their own details.
The blades of grass, the basket, and the butterfly are good examples of this.
“Addison Dodd has a wonderful use of space and I love her use of color and attention to detail.
That bunny has so much character along with the Easter eggs and flowers,” Ghais added.
