It has been often said that “every new beginning comes from some other beginnings’ end.”
“Although this is not the end of our journey, now is the time for Craft Furniture to plan for the future,” said Craft Furniture owner Blayne Finlay in a press release.
“It all started in 1952 with a WWII veteran wanting to provide for his family. After obtaining damaged furniture and fixing them in the basement of a garage apartment, Frank Craft thought bigger.”
Craft wanted to organize his business plan and develop a foundation within the Matagorda County community that would provide affordable and quality furniture for generations to come.
“Well, within or 72 years of business it is time to remodel our business outlook and obtain a different way of providing the same quality furniture with an even more heightened sense of customer satisfaction,” Finlay explained.
“It is no secret that without strategizing your business plan and adapting to new demands and resources provided you cannot sustain in an already difficut retail environment.
"Our goal moving forward is to provide local knowledge and use local resources to reinvest back into our local economy.”
Finlay added that Bay City is “our home and Craft Furniture belongs to Bay City”
“And it will always be our vision to contribute back into the future of the town we call home,” he said.
“With that, said, we have developed a relationship with another retail store that will offer a different selection of products. Although we are two separate entities under one roof, we will strive to make your shopping experience an easy decision with whatever your needs are.”
Finlay said that the change will provide a one-stop shop for all customers’ furniture and bedding needs.
“Keep in mind Craft Furniture is a local business that will still be offering a variety of types of home décor and furnishings,” he added.
“We will continue to operate as Craft Furniture and be your place to shop for your present and future needs
