Emma Corinne Murray earns National FFA American Degree

Tidehaven FFA Press Release

Tidehaven FFA announces Emma Corinne Murray was awarded the National FFA American Degree, the highest honor bestowed by the National FFA Organization.
Murray received this prestigious recognition during the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nov. 1.
The American FFA Degree is presented to less than one percent of FFA members nationwide, recognizing those who have demonstrated exceptional agricultural and leadership achievements.
Murray’s dedication to excellence in agricultural education, supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), and community service exemplifies the FFA motto: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve.
Throughout her FFA career, Murray has been actively involved in raising and showing market swine and registered Brahman breeding heifers, showcasing her livestock at local, county, and state shows.
Her hard work, record-keeping, and commitment to animal husbandry played a major role in her earning this distinguished degree.
In addition to her livestock projects, Murray served as an FFA chapter officer, where she contributed to developing leadership activities, organizing chapter events, and mentoring younger members.
Murray is not only the first member from Tidehaven High School to receive the American FFA Degree, but also only the 16th recipient from Matagorda County, marking a historic milestone for the Tidehaven FFA Chapter and the local agricultural community.
“Emma’s accomplishment represents years of dedication, leadership, and passion for agriculture, and with the strong support from her parents, has been able to excel in her endeavors.” said her breeding heifer sponsor and former teacher.
The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, preparing students for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture.
