Van Vleck ISD and community members celebrated Superintendent Emeritus John O’Brien’s retirement recently.
With 35 years in education, O’Brien is looking forward to spending time with his family.
O’Brien was also recognized with a “Special Life Time Award” at VVISD Board of Trustee’s “Annual Employee Appreciation Celebration” earlier in May.
Other retirees include Tammy Franz and Stephanie O’Brien.
Top Leopard awards were presented district-wide to Kari Button, Tara Hopkins, Reannon Bruening, Willie Luna, Toni King, Jessalyn Pierce, Tiffany Koliba, Melissa Trevino, Stephanie Roberts, Cassandra Higgins, Cindy Diener, and Debbie Stewart.
Service awards were presented to staff that that attained anywhere from 5-30 years in the district.
Those with 30 years at VVISD were Susie Matchett and Larry Wiley.
The staff members recognized with 25 years of service were Teresa Bolton, Christie Dement, Ybarra Ellis, Radonna Huron, and Debbie Stewart.
Staff with 20 years in the district were Erica Gonzales, Jennifer Hill, Michelle Weathers, and Matt Stovall.
Fifteen-year recognition went to Michelle Cervantes, Gwen Franklin, Carolyn Shelton, Sandra Snider, and Melissa Trevino.
Those with 10 years in the district were Sammi Alford, Noemi Gonzalez, Paula Grice, Casey Munos, Jordan Pena, Rosie Perez, Clint Polk, and Rachel Schneider.
Staff with five years of service awards were Kevin Allen, Bryan Brown, Clayton Dumesnil, Mitchell Birchum, Kami Bludau, Rome Buckalew, Elyse Cadie, Jacob Cadle, Rodney Dowell, Christina Dusek, Lora Guzman, Tracie Hood, Sarah Porter, Ingrid Ryman, Fred Wesselski and Elgin Woodard.
