The Wharton County Junior College Foundation is pleased to announce that it will holding its second annual casino party, Blackjack, Glitz & Glamor in Sugar Land. Funds raised will benefit the Wharton County Junior College Foundation.
Scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Sugar Land Marriott, the ticketed event will include casino games, hors d’oeuvres, a spirited live auction, and the chance to win prizes.
The purpose of the event will be to raise needed funds by reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to creating a legacy for students through philanthropy and the belief that every student deserves access to quality education and the resources needed to succeed.
STP Nuclear Operating Company will serve as the Event Honoree, which will include an establishment of the STP Energizing the Future Endowed Scholarship at WCJC, for this year’s “A Night of Luck and Legacy” theme.
“STP is so proud to be supporting students on their educational journey with this event,” said Kym Harshaw, Executive Vice President, Chief Nuclear Officer and Interim President and CEO of STP.
“Community college programs offer incredible opportunities to start out on a path to success. Having started my own educational journey at a community college, I can attest to the great value they have to offer.”
Wharton County Junior College and Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. will serve as River Royalty sponsors for the event.
WCJC Foundation President Gary Gillen is thrilled to bring this event once again to the community. “This event is not just about cards and cocktails – it’s about connection, celebration and giving back,” Gillen said.
