This weekend has a variety of fundraisers, including new and returning annual fall favorite events.
If gold is your game of choice, check out Wellness Matagorda and the YMCA of the Golden Crescent’s inaugural “Swing for the Waves” golf tournament.
In-person registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Rio Colorado Golf Course, 7320 FM 2668.
Registration fees are $125 per player or $500 for a team, with tee off at 8 a.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Matagorda County Aquatic Center by helping purchase furniture.

Matagorda County Museum hosts its annual “Gourmet Guys” fundraiser from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, at the Bay City Civic Center, 201 7th St.
This year’s theme is “50 Nifty United States” dishes, and tickets are $40 per person.
Tickets can be purchased at the museum during regular business hours from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday.

Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Association presents “Bullfighters Only (BFO) Third Coast Championship” starting at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the county fairgrounds, 4511 FM 2668.
Pre-sale tickets are $25 each at TNT Western Wear and the fair office.
Tickets purchased on the day of the event are $30 per person.
Sponsorship and VIP tickets are available directly through the fair office.
Other entertainment includes mutton busting and live music by Roughstock following the bullfighting.

Holy Cross Catholic Church’s annual “Fall Festival and Turkey Dinner” starts at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, at Columbus Hall, 63 CR 216 in Bay City.
Plates are $15 per person and are available for dine-in or drive-through until 1 p.m. or until they sell out.
Each plate includes turkey, cornbread dressing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and dessert.
There will also be a live auction, raffle, country store, and children’s activities.
