The YMCA of the Golden Crescent announced the expansion of its “Afterschool Programs” to new locations in Bay City, already in operation, and Gonzales, launching soon.
This initiative demonstrates the YMCA’s dedication to providing quality, accessible child care and enrichment opportunities across the region.
“We are delighted to extend our Afterschool Programs to more communities,” said YMCA of the Golden Crescent CEO Bud Oliver.
“Offering a safe, educational, and fun environment for children after school hours is at the heart of our mission.”
The expansion will offer a diverse array of activities, including homework help, STEM, arts, and physical fitness programs, all conducted in a state-licensed, secure setting.
The YMCA staff will lead the programs, ensuring a balanced development for each child.
“Our goal is to foster environments where children can not only learn but also discover and grow in their interests and talents,” said Brigg’s Branch Childcare Director Michelle Falcon.
“I am so excited to see our programs expand into the surrounding communities so we can continue to meet that goal.”
The programs are conveniently located on school campuses, making it easily accessible for families. Financial aid is also available, ensuring that the programs are inclusive and available to all.
“We are still looking for community support and involvement,” added Oliver.
“Whether it’s volunteering, donations, or spreading the word, every bit helps us make a difference in these children’s lives.”
