Another suspect was caught Wednesday, April 19, and charged with the Whitson Street homicide in January, in addition to two other suspects, Bay City Police said last week.
Yashua Verntral Lee Caesar, was found by U.S. Marshals near Wharton County, police said.
Caesar faces charges of murder and aggravated robbery and was booked into Matagorda County Jail, police said.
The charge is in connection with the death of 25-year-old Jared Aplin of Bay City, who was found dead inside a vehicle at 1212 Whitson Street in Bay City Tuesday, Jan. 24, police said.
A 16-year-old juvenile and 17-year-old Clarence Kimble Small were arrested and charged previously for their alleged participation in the murder, police reports show.
Assisting in the arrest were U.S. Marshals, Texas Department of Public Safety, Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office, and Bay City Police Department Narcotics.
“The police department is very appreciative of the U.S. Marshals who safely took the suspect into custody,” Bay City Police Chief Christella Rodriguez said.
The Bay City Police Department and the Texas Rangers assisted the Bay City ISD Police Department with the investigation.
The case is still active.
