A 22-year-old Bay City man was arrested on a warrant for online soliciting of a minor sexual conduct, Bay City police said.
The warrant was served on Alejandro Matamoros, 22, of Bay City, in the 200 block of Avenue B in Van Vleck on Aug. 15.
Matamoros was taken to the Matagorda County Jail without incident.
The investigation began Wednesday, Aug. 7, when an officer was dispatched to the Police Department lobby to speak with a complainant.
Upon his arrival the officer met with a complainant who said the suspect had been sexually harassing their teenager.
According to police, the complainant learned that Matamoros had been sending texts of a sexual nature to their teenager, as well as contacting the teen on social media.
The suspect also was accused of assaulting the teenager, reports show.
Through further investigation, detectives were able to get a warrant for Matamoros for online soliciting of a minor sexual conduct.
