Officers were pulled across the city investigation a stabbing and shootings Saturday, Feb. 20.
Officers were dispatched to 1801 Palm Village in reference to a stabbing at 1 a.m. Feb. 20.
Before arriving on scene, 1 a.m.Saturday, Feb. 20, dispatch advised that a black male suspect had run off on foot.
As some officers searched the area, Officer Alvarez talked to the victim.
The victim indicated shortly after arriving home, he found the suspect in his home and an fight started.
That’s when the suspect stabbed the victim in the abdomen.
EMS arrived and took the victim to Matagorda Regional Medical Center, and he was later flown to Houston by LifeFlight. Detectives went to Palm Village and took over the investigation.
Later that night, at 11:28 p.m., officers were sent to an unrelated incident involving a gun.
Officers were directed to 5001 Avenue F in reference to numerous calls of shots fired.
One complainant told police that bullets went through their apartment.
When officers arrived, they found a vehicle in the parking lot with several bullet holes.
The vehicle was unoccupied. Officers contacted the complainant whose apartment had been shot.
The complainant said they had been sitting in the living room when bullets came through the wall.
No one in the apartment was injured, police said.
Officers did saw bullet holes in the wall of the apartment.
They also located shell casings in the parking lot of the complex. Evidence was collected from both areas.
Both of these cases are still under investigation.
