Police Chief
Bay City Police Department
Today we have the honor of recognizing and promoting Officer Dillon Wakefield to the rank of Patrol Corporal, a well-deserved achievement that reflects his hard work, dedication, and commitment to this department and our community.
Officer Wakefield started with the Bay City Police Department in 2022.
During that time, he has quickly distinguished himself as a dependable, motivated, and highly capable officer.
He has earned certifications as an Intoxilyzer Operator, Field Training Officer, and has taken on the added responsibility of serving as a member of our SWAT Team.
These roles require discipline, sound judgment, and a strong sense of duty—qualities Dillon consistently demonstrates.
Prior to joining our department, Dillon proudly served four years in the United States Navy, where he earned several medals and ribbons.
That military service is evident in his work ethic, his respect for teamwork, and his calm, steady leadership style.
He brings those same values to every shift and every call.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dillon is a true family man.
Family means everything to him, and he is supported today by his beautiful soulmate, Angelyna, and their three wonderful children.
That foundation of family is reflected in the compassion, responsibility, and integrity he brings to this job every day.
As he steps into the role of Patrol Corporal, I have full confidence that Dillon will lead by example, support his fellow officers, and continue to grow as a leader within the Patrol Division.
His goal of advancing further and one day becoming a Sergeant speaks to his commitment to this department and to serving the City of Bay City with honor.
Dillon, we are proud of you, grateful for your service, and excited to see what the future holds for you in this new role.
Congratulations on your promotion.
